Dear Animation Director, I hope you take the time to read my thoughtful letter that I put my time and effort into and took up a whole Saturday on: There has been recent news that the Pokémon TV show will be changing their voice actors. Everyone is talking about it. Being a Pokémon fan myself, I would hate it if the voice of Ash changed, it wouldn't be the same. People might stop watching Pokémon all together and this could affect the franchise as a whole because fans would be disappointed by this change and loose interest all together. I always thought Pokémon would make a come back and be as popular as it was in 2000. But, the truth is that if you change the voice actors and fans loose interest, it will never make a come back like in Japan. Every Saturday morning I don't sleep in late because I know Pokémon Advance Battle will be on soon. On Friday night I can't wait to see what adventures Ash will be in, but if Ash sounds different, and definitely worse, I won't care what Ash 2 will be doing, because it won't be the same Ash that we knew ever since he got Pikachu from Professor Oak. I also hear that there will be a special United States only 10th Anniversary special in late April, but to tell you the truth, I will not be watching it because it will have the new, horrible, voice actors. It will never be the same again. Ratings will go down, and so will your money. I will not set my TiVo to Pokémon: Advance Battle, The Master Mirage Pokémon on April 29, Channel 11 at 10a. I'll just sleep in that day. To tell you the truth as a Pokémon fan, I am so disappointed in what your doing. If your trying to get publicity, it's not bad publicity, it's negative, even horrible, never-care-about-again publicity! You should see my room, there is Pokémon posters, dolls, figures, you name it I have it. If everyone was to loose interest I wouldn't have anything to decorate my room with, it would be blank, and so would thousands of fans' rooms around the country. I made my parents drive me up to Boston just to go to Pokémon Rocks America 2005, but if no one watches the TV show, no one, absolutely no one will go. You guys have done some really cheap things in the past. For example releasing TCG: Series 2, which was the Base, or Basic Set with a 2 on the cards. But what you are doing now has to be the worse of all time! You can't get rid of the things that people love and expect them to not notice, that's crazy! We all love the voices for all the major characters. There are other ways to save money than to change the people. Making fewer edits on episodes should save quite a bit of money and time. Keep the fan base which consists not just of kids, but of people of all age groups strong first, then the money will roll in on its own. That way, we'll all be happy. Ash's voice is in so many things! There are Ash toys, action figures, games, and even more! What would you do with all these things? Come to everyones house and change their voice? Your trying to make the old Ash we know and love disappear for ever! You must think, "Sure, everyone will forget in a couple months," but your wrong, I'll remember and so will everyone that has liked Pokémon truly. If you change the voices, you'll have to live with upsetting fans everywhere that speaks English, and English is the second most spoke language in the world! To change the voices is just throwing away the old, good Pokémon and forcing this down our throats. Tell me this, how come the people that actually watch and like the show have no say in which direction the show goes in? As I'm writing this letter, I can't stress how disappointed I am in you. I thought better of you. I hope you guys read my letter, not just put it in a pile with the others, but actually consider what I have to say. I would also greatly appreciate it if you were to give me a response. I don't want Pokémon to fail like Digimon, but be the best thing out there that everyone has to have. You still have time to re-record the 10th Anniversary episode and make it a special one, one that everyone will remember! If you liked Pokémon as long as I did, you wouldn't want it to fail! There are entire website devoted to "Save the Voice Actors", or "Save the dub.", this shows how much people care about what's going on and how you can't sneak behind our backs and change everything. What next, your going to try to change Pikachu or Jirachi? Your doing this for the fans, right? Not just for the money? If your doing it just for the money, you don't realize the real meaning of Pokémon, to make fans happy! I can't think of anything else to say right now, but I hope you consider what I had to say. Pokémon Fan For Ever, JirachiRob
