Hello everyone. My name is Rob, and I have a message for everyone who is truly serious about saving Pokemon. I have put a lot of thought in, and I feel the best way we can get Pokemon USA's attention is to have a large rally outside of its NYC headquarters. For those of you who have recently looked at the online petition on the SOVA web site, yes, it's me, the same Rob who has been talking about a rally for a little while now. I really think that, having a large enough crowd, Pokemon USA will have no choice but to listen to us. One way to be really successful is to get younger kids involved. It's summer vacation, and if we can get a crowd with a large proportion of kids 12 and under, Pokemon's biggest fan base, Pokemon USA may rethink their plans, seeing that kids are involved. Also, we should get the voice actors involved. Having Veronica, Eric, Rachael, Maddie, and the others rally along side us should help our cause. Another key is the date of this event. We should have a rally on one or both of two dates: Saturday July 22nd, when the Pokemon Journey Across America Tour arrives in NYC, or on Tuesday August 8th, when the 10th Anniversary "Party of the Decade" in NYC is going on. The reason for this is to raise awareness of our cause to Pokemon fans who may not know of these happenings, and to possibly get some media attention on a day where cameras are already rolling on a Pokemon event. I really think this can work, we just have to work together. All Pokemon fans, no matter where you live in this great nation, can all come together as one solid entity, to bring back our beloved voice actors.
Some info: My full name is Rob (or Bob) Harris. I live in Staten Island, NY, a quick ferry ride away from Manhattan. I just turned 17 years old, and I am entering my senior year of high school this September. I have been watching Pokemon since it came out in 1998, and have missed some, but few, episodes. I want to be a hurricane meteorologist, and have always wanted to be one, and Pokemon is something I had and still have as an inspiration for achieving my goals. My email address is rob0960@aol.com. After a few days, I will send a group response to everyone who has emailed me with info, questions to ask and answer, and anything else we have to go over for this rally to be a success. In my response email, we will select a date and location, along with other variables we may have to decide upon.
Some related things: If you live in California, for example, or possibly outside of the US, please, if you have enough time and money, make your way to NYC on the selected day, having people come from far away will show Pokemon USA how much we care. Also, we must all try to personally contact all of the voice actors. I've been in touch somewhat with Veronica Taylor, not so much recently, but we have talked, and I'm sure one single email about this rally will get her attention, but more then one email by different people would be great. And remember, we want to have a completely non-violent event. One single instance of violence by any of us, and the whole thing's a wash. This is a wholesome children's TV show, and violence is only going to hurt our cause. There is no way Pokemon USA, nor anyone else for that matter, will sympathize with us if there is any violence.
Please, everyone, let's do this. Working together, we can get this done, we can be successful. We can force Pokemon USA to listen, and we can bring our voice actors back.
